About

Equally at home as performer and composer Matt London aspires to create emotive music inspired by free improvisation.

A graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music [MMus Distinction] studying with Rob Buckland and Andy Scott [saxophone] and with current doctoral study at Brunel University London under the supervistion of Peter Wiegold and Christopher Fox [composition] he continues to explore and develop a forward looking approach to his music centred around the impromptu.

Today his main musical influences as a performer-composer are drawn from master improvisers and composers such as Paul Dunmall, Barry Guy, Brian Irvine and Paul Rogers to name a few.

Held in high regard as a classical tenor saxophone specialist his debut classical album “SPEAK NOW music for tenor saxophone” presents a selection of original tenor saxophone works by composers from across the UK.
