  • Debut Ensemble Entropy album w/ Discus Music!

    Delighted to announce that the debut Ensemble Entropy album will be coming out later in the year on Martin Archer's fantastic Sheffield based label Discus Music!

    Super excited to be linking up with such a great supportive label who champion creative improvisatory music from a wide range of varied music makers. This debut release for EE will actual be of the large edition of the group — Orchestra Entropy !   

  • Matt nominated for a British Composer Awards 2018!

    Matt has been nominated for a 2018 British Composer Awards for his extended work RITUALS for Orchestra Entropy under the Jazz Composition for Large Ensemble category! The awards ceremony will take place at the British Museum on Tuesday 4th December, and will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3 on Sunday 9th December.     I am delighted to take on the role of artistic director of the Tenor Saxophone Colletive for it's Zagreb edition at the World Saxophone Congress in July!

    Mark is a highly sought after perfomer in the improvisation world having played with many renowned Jazz and Improvising musicians including Roscoe Mitchell, Wadada Leo Smith, Derek Bailey, Henry Grimes, Roswell Rudd, Peter Brotzmann, Barry Guy, Otomo Yoshihide, Jah Wobble, Sidsel Endresen, Charles Gayle, Peter Evans, William Parker, John Butcher and Paul Dunmall.

  • Ensemble Entropy #3 Solos / Duos

    We head to the delightful Hundred Years Gallery for an evening of intimate and enchanting music devised by Megan Steinberg, Alessandro Viale, Jenn Kirby, Fintan O'Hare and Matt London ending with a full ensemble work by Seth Bennett. And we are very excited to welcome Megan Sternberg and Jenn Kirby to the stage as player-composers!

    These brand new pieces will be partnered with free improvisations plus the world premiere of the late Sir Peter Maxwell Davies' "Invitation Card to Giuseppe" for solo violin.

    Nick Huggins, apart from doing a MMus in Composition with Harrison Birtwistle, is a largely self-taught composer whose music (much of which was shortlisted by the Society for the Promotion of New Music) has been performed by Lontano and The Composers Ensemble, Vinko Globokar and Diego Masson – he has an extensive back catalogue…

    Matt London is held in high regard as a classical tenor saxophone specialist and as an aspiring composer fascinated with open and unconfined performance and writing. He is currently studying for a composition based PhD with Christopher Fox and Peter Wiegold at Brunel University.

    Made up of an interesting mix of winds, brass and strings the ensemble has lots of sonic possibilities for me to explore!

  • Saxophone recital at Brunel Arts Centre - 3 Feb 2017

    Matt London (saxophone) and Dave Howard (piano) explore exciting repertoire from the old and new traditions! The duo released their first record SPEAK NOW in 2013 and have performed at the last three World Saxophone Congresses.
